Wow what a busy two days we have had in the Rose/Kal/Bear/Bunny/Grammy household! Monday was my usual pulmo-rehab appointment (shortened by one hour followed by my 2 hr IV), and I told them that I would not be there on Wednesday since it was Christmas Eve. We went to my aunt and uncle's house for our traditional Christmas Eve pizza party. Let me tell you that you have never seen anything like the awesome insanity that was our family! W00t! It started out all innocently with us gathering and eating nicely. My aunt mentioned in passing the giant Nerf dart gun war that her immediate family had recently had. I must admit that my newly "healthy" self was a bit jealous and intrigued by the idea; however, I didn't really want to be one of the shooters - just an observer. A while later, the onslaught began! I am not quite sure who started it, but I think it is a good bet that JG did. :P My sweet baby cousin (okay so he is in his mid-20s) would run around through the kitchen, dining, family room to get his target. Soon, cousins MT and JR were involved. I noticed my two angel children grab up two of the six Nerf guns and eagerly join in. I was still sitting at the kitchen table greatly enjoying the war! Woohoo! Then the most dangerous thing happened...an un-named cousin shot cousin SA. She turned around with the most hysterical look on her face, grabbed someone's Nerf gun, and ran after the offender yelling, "Oh its on!" I just about busted a new lung! :) KalBot had to remind her to cock the gun first, but soon she was tearing after victims just like everyone else. Uncle L, JG, and MT were running around with Bear and Bunny, and MT only tried to take himself out with the wall or door twice. LOL His girlfriend was the best assistant to him because she would grab up all the fired darts and hand them to him. He seemed to never run out! :P Finally it got totally insane with GrammyRose getting pelted in the head/body by almost everyone who had a weapon, and she finally started confiscating the darts as she was hit. ROFL Everyone involved was really laughing, and of course when an innocent bystander (like ME!) was hit, the shooter was totally razzed. I just sat minding my own business at one point and felt a dart buzz my eyelashe! JG will PAY!! Muahahhaha! I think my dear KissyBot shot me few times as I innocently read Eclipse (3rd Twilight book - THANK YOU A.T.). I will find a way to really get him back. Hmmmm....maybe some Christmas photos of him on the blog..... Bear and Bunny raked in the gifts, and they somehow even got me to sing along with the Guitar Hero World Tour band kit. I never sing karaoke or anything, but I did a decent job with a Blondie song. :) Thinking back to last year, I would have probably been asleep somewhere at my aunt and uncle's house, and then I would have been napping today and probably not been able to make it to my in-law's for dinner. We had a great time there tonight, and my mom-in-law even mentioned how great it was that I was able to attend two party days in a row. Amen to that! There would absolutely have been no way last year for me to actually have enjoyed myself so much. We had more than enough to bless us this year, and I hope that we can be good examples for people going through the same struggles. I would have never expected to be in the great situation that I am in now. I never really planned ahead for more than a few weeks because I knew that I would be getting sick again. Even in the immediate days following transplant, I fully expected to be in horrible pain for a long stretch of time. How wonderful it is that I have had such a relatively easy recovery. My blood test from Monday showed that my new dosage for the new anti-rejection drug is finally good! I have another bronch on 1/15 to see that everything is reversed from the acute rejection I showed in the last two bronchs. I feel better than ever right now, and I look forward to newfound freedoms at the start of the New Year. I will finally be able to drive and go out to movies/restaurants. I am campaigning heartily for KalBot to take me to see Twilight over the break since I have a newfound obssession with it. I blame Frazier, Ravyn, and many other online friends (along with my physical and respiratory therapists). I had no interest in reading those "stinking" books. Then I did, and UH-OH! We are talking major fascination here. LOL I got the soundtrack and now I can't stop listening to Supermassive Black Hole by Muse. I am in trouble. LOL If you have seen the movie, this is the song from the baseball scene. :)

I know better than that......
I did hit a lot of other relatives though.
I think they will be finding Nerf darts for the next couple of months....
